The Joys of Autumn

The ever-so-slight layer of mist on your hair,

the grey and wet sky above.

The radiant red  and orange leaves surrounding your feet.

The sloshing of boots in a puddle.

The cool breeze whipping around like a ghost.

The heavy dew drop weighing a leaf down,

weighing it down toward the earth.

The refreshing smell of a recent rain on the pavement.

The warm steam floating off of a warm mug.

The young ones running and jumping around in the rain.

The small hints that it is in fact,

Autumn.
